About me

I am a researcher specializing in the interplay of religion and culture, with a focus on how religion intersects with sexual politics in contexts of settler colonialism and EU border politics. Currently, I am writing my dissertation on the discourse of 'new anti-Semitism'.

My disseration focuses on how philosemitism serves as a political tool to maintain settler sovereignty under the pretense of protecting Jewish life. My work examines the intersections of this with gender and sexual colonialism, specifically through concepts of homophilosemitism and femophilosemitism. I explore how discourses on sexuality and women's rights are leveraged to uphold settler sovereignty and European border politics .

I am also interested in discourses on political violence, focusing on critical studies of terrorism, surveillance mechanisms, and the criminalization of dissent. This is particularly relevant within the contexts of settler colonialism, EU border politics, and necropolitics.

I plan to expand this research in a postdoctoral position to explore how race, religion, and gender are embodied and constituted through medical discourse, social institutions, cultural practices and rituals and political and legal frameworks. I aim to incorporate indigenous methodologies in my research.
